I took a full time job with Yahoo in the Ad Technology department in Jan. It’s the largest company I’ve ever worked for by far. I’m on a small team of smart cool folks. We bring in a lot of revenue for the company. I started the same day as the new CEO, Scott Thompson.
I was called into complete a Face Recognition Flash app for MySpace last week. It was a promo for the Black Eye Peas.
After you give permission for Flash to turn on your camera, it locks in on your face (center your face for this) and then song begins. Cute 8bit art gets blasted on to your face (sunglasses, old game icons, etc). You can move your face around and the art will follow you. And then you can snap stills of the silliness with a button. When the song ends you can select screen grabs to upload to your MySpace account.
We did encounter one problem with Flash accessing the camera on some macs. Apparently there is a bug with Mac OS 10.6.5 and the camera. However there is a work around.

I’ve just wrapped up a deluxe Flash video player for BBE. The player has a customized views (size, gallery layout) and tracks all user interactions and records them to a cookie.
I’ve built many Flash video players. On this one I utilized a few different design patterns (Decorator, Command, Singleton, MVC.).
The project is ‘done’ but scheduled to restart July 20 when BBE will have some deals signed with clients to use the player.
I’m helping to code an Air application – Kidos – an OS for children. This is a team project that already has a solid base of code. I’m learning to use Git for committing my code contributions.
I’ve been producing on a dynamic slide show with a CMS for the 2010 World Cup. Contains a CMS so that client can upload images, create tags, galleries and albums.
I’m doing some paired programming for a small company in Dumbo. I sit down with a guy that has been writing code since the 80s. We are working on a Flash online video editor.
My first exposure to paired programing, test-driven design, and Git.
I’m finishing up building a dynamic fullscreen Flash video player for Mediatronica. Features:

Still here in beautiful (but culturally lacking) Boulder, CO developing a touch screen kiosk with more bells and whistles than a one man band. Looking forward to getting to back in NYC in the fall.
I was called in by a fellow ITP alumni to do some fixes on a AS3/Air project for Nylon Technology.
